Website Research

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgendy

This site was easy to navigate. New tabs opened in new windows. You can tell what is clickable, the only problem is that almost everything is clickable. The colors build of the movie theme. Blue, yellow, and white are mainly on the colors. The colors give a go lucky feel. The type represents to movie. Some type is very small and is distinct from the background. Not all of the type changes when you hover over it. Overall the site is good, but not great.

Hot Tub Time Machine

The homepage is very blan. It was fairly easy to navigate, but it is to in your face. When you click on a link it sends you to a flash download screen. It takes to long to get from one page to another. There is no way to get back to the home screen. The colors are simple, but do not neccesarialy represent the movie. The site does make you laugh. The type is very plain and does not give an accurate representation of the movie.

Color Palette

BA1B00-Forest Fire (Red)
BABABA-Plein De Vie (Light Grey)
BA520C-Great Depths (Burnt Orange)

This palette is in line with the Master Design Blog Post because it provides a light, medium, and dark color. The range of the three choice is wide enough to show dimension and diversity. Also by picking only three colors it will be easy to keep the same theme for my web page. The color palette is a warm palette, which is inviting and friendly.

Movie Poster

posterpsd
I choose to make a poster for my High Point University promotional piece. I used a paper filter to give it a vintage look and documentary feel. The photo is from last spring when i visited High Point. I picked the font for its fun, laid back feel. The drop shadow gives the type depth and adds definition to the tittle. I added the "movie type" at the bottom to give the whole piece a more authentic feel.

HPU Video

The video is easy on the eye. The shots represent what is being said by the narration. The purpose of the
video is to draw prospective students into the University. The cuts are very fluid. In the beginning, the photos
crossfade with each other. After that simple cuts are used to help define what is being said. The music adds a
coasting effect that ties it all together

The Snatch

The shots in this short film are to cut to guide you eye to the important subject. the purse, the phone, and the feet of the thief are all signifigant.
The music puts a omonious feel to the shots to bring it together and create a nice short film.

Movie Trailer

My plan is to create a movie trailer for a physiological thriller. When a young couple falls in love the worst happens. Matthew Peters was looking for love what he found was hell. What does he do when his girlfriend becomes possessed? Find out in "She's to into You".

Composition

LinesThis photo of the University Center demonstrates lines. You see the lines created my the columns and the glass panels. It also represents symmetry.

DiscussionThis image is full of discussion. the detail in the brick and the manhole cover offer a sense of craftsmanship and age as the cover begins to rust.

ThirdsIn this image we see thirds the water represents one third the geese two, and the ice is three. The photo was taken in the drainage ponds behind Slane.

BalanceThis photo is very balanced. In the foreground we have the atlas and in the rear we have roberts hall which makes a nice composition.
